A Tool for Tackling Boring Walls

Hang & LevelThe winner of last month's Photo Challenge, Ryan M. (see Ryan's walls) will be receiving a gift basket from Hang & Level for any future wall-adorning projects.

While I'll admit that the Hang & Level looks like a pretty simple tool, it really does make hanging anything that needs a nail much easier. I've used it at home to align the art on my walls and I'm proud to say that my frames look fab!

For more ideas on adorning your walls, see How-To videos from Pure Design about how to hang frames in a grid or a more casual salon style. Or read the Project Plans: Grid Photo Gallery Wall; Salon-Style Art Gallery Wall

A quick Hang & Level lesson:

  • Hang your frame or canvas from one of the hooks at the bottom of the tool and decide where it looks best on your wall. (There's a ruler built into the side of the tool if you need to space frames accurately.)
  • Next, remove your frame from the Hang & Level and press that hook into the wall. It makes a tiny mark exactly where your nail or wall hook should go.
  • Hammer your nail into the wall, hang your art then use the level to ensure that it's straight. And start again on your next frame.
