Add More Elbow Room to Your Cramped Bath and Shower

If you’ve got one of those walk-in spa showers, then enjoy it, and this is not for you.  But if you’re tight on bathroom space, especially if you’re in a highrise apartment with a generic little bathroom, then read on.

Not sure if you’ve seen these curved shower rods around, but prior to buying mine, I had. And to be quite honest, I thought it was a gimmick.

Until my shower rod slid off the tiles along with the curtain one day, when I drew it too fast to clean the shower. That’s when I went shopping for a new one and decided to give the Shower Curve a try.

Well I’m compelled to tell you that I am a believer. My tub and shower have been turned into a mini living room – it really does make a big difference!  I got my Shower Curve at Home Depot but there are others such as the above Moen rods, available at Lowes. If your tub and shower are as small as mine, then you would certainly benefit from this inventive design which indeed increases your shower elbow room by 25%.

You’d think that it would stick way out into the room, but in fact there’s barely a difference from the non-curved.  The reason is that it actually attaches slightly further into the shower/tub area, to compensate for the curve (check out this installation video).

Have you tried these curved shower rods?  Tell us about it.

Have these on both of my showers - We love them!

They screw into the wall and you never have to deal with tension rods again!  More room is nice in standard bathtub showers and it actually looks better from outside because of the shape.

Well worth the small investment.

When deciding whether or not to hang one of these curved rods, don't forget to consider the space that is taken up on the outside of the shower.  Toilets and sinks can feel cramped if a shower curtain is hanging right up next to them.
