Splurge vs. Steal: Glamorous Mirrors

The Starbust mirror adds personality to any room. This design mixes well with contemporary and traditional furniture. Several interpretations exist on the market, so you're almost certain to find one that meets your taste and your budget.

The wealthy niche will enjoy the Sunbrust mirrors designed by Parish-Hadley for Baker (above, right). Available in silver or in gold, each mirror retails for $6,300 USD. But most of us will be happy with the sleek silver-coloured nickel rays of the Starburst Convex Mirror by Glenna Jean (above, left) for $139 USD.

If you dream of the magnificent Baker’s Constellation mirror (for $6,790 USD, pictured above, left), on a smaller budget you can spent $369 at Tanyas in Toronto for a 45-inch antique silver finish Sunburst Mirror (above, top right). Wrapables even sell a similar version (above, bottom left) at $59.95 USD.

Finally, my favourites! I really like the Mercure mirror that I saw at Zone (above, right). At $455 CAD, it is a small indulgence. Hang it on a wall of your living room or your entryway. The handcrafted icon ring upon ring of the Bangle Mirror at Horchow (above, left) is an affordable comprise at $195 USD. The glamour emerges from the rustic golden finish and the circular shape.

Love those mirrors.  I'm a firm believer in splurging on a few key pieces.  But these "steals" are a great addition or finishing touch to a beautiful room.  Thanks for the resources!

"Mirror, mirror on the wall, Whose the fairest of them all?"  These are definitely beauties!!!   Thanks for sharing them and the information Kim.

Thanks so much for sharing the information, Kim.  I have been scouting a lower price for the Sunburst mirror (which is $369 at Tanyas and at other retailers).  This mirror is made  by Renwil (based in Montreal) and can be purchased from Direct Interiors, which is located in Brampton, for $295 or around that price.
