Dear on line addicts and fellow HGTV'ers,

Trust everyone is enjoying this burst of warmer weather! I listened to Colin and Justin on a radio show today and they seemed so so 'grown up'!  Guess it's because they were talking about their book which sounds really interesting and like a real guide to design.  I'm gutted that I can't make it to the events to meet them in person but I'm shopping tomorrow and plan buying this book.  I've read a couple of reviews and it sounds like a real clever book that may in fact show me how I should be doing it!  Boy, I need their help!

Gotta just say did they spend a few hours under the sun on the cover of the book? God, they look wonderful! Haven't got the book yet either but plan to get it this week.  What are peoples thoughts on the new season of Home Heist?  What about that wild home owner on the first episode!! I nearly dies laughing!!!

Good work!

I got the book yesterday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  As a straight guy I guess I'm not expected to have good taste but this book seems to make it really easy to achieve good taste! The kitchens are awesome and the living room reno's are beyond anything I thought I could afford but now realise I can do. My girlfriend is out of town for several days and I'm busy tryingto think how I can redo my bedroom like the red and gold one in the book! Maybe I'll paste some pics on here after to show you what the straight guys can do!

October 6, 2008 6:53 PM

What the straight guys can do????  Whaaaaaaaat? What is that meant to mean?  Surely we're all imbued with taste or not... but is it really gender specific???????  Colin and Justin ain't 'straight' and their taste is great and their book sounds awesome but I know other gay guys whose taste is rubbish!  What does everyone else think?  Is taste a given or a learned trait?????????????

October 6, 2008 7:41 PM

Surely its immaterial who or form which gender does the decor.  As long as its done professionally like it should be.  Id have Collin and Justin doing mine anyday! And I wish them every success for there new book which looks very lovely, very lovely indeed.  I like these British gentlemen very much on TV,

Fondly,

Jan Nelson, 48 years young

Oh we adore thisi pair and we have to report that we went to the book signing ourselves last night and they spoke to us amidst their crowds!

Anyway, my review is that their book is just terrific and clear knowledge is in addition to their fun outlook. Bright and well explained this is the kind of book we wish we'd beeen able to find before we ruined our house when we started decorating a few years ago.  Still, with this book as inspiration we'll be able to get ourselves out of this mess!!  BRILLIANT work from the best designers on the box! Loads of best wishes Mrs (and Mr) Bruce, Bloor West Village

I am English but Guys don't hold that against me.  Your work in the UK shows was questionable but the products you have produced in Canada are outstanding, I wish they were based in Vancouver, B.C. In my mind there four groups worth watching, You Guys, Sarah, Deb and Real Reno's  the rest should not have air time or be supported by tax dollars.

I am Scottish and am desparate to see them in Nova Scotia, we have an International airport and EVERYTHING. I have been watching them for eeeeeeeeeeeever and would love them to advise me on my house, I am a woman with ideas but stuck, who dreams of what to do with my next prodject. Help

I'm a huge fan of Colin and Justin's bold designs and this is truly a fabulous book. Packed with useful information and stunning photography, this book takes you way beyond the TV show and reminds us while playful and charismatic, these boys rock interior design in a big way! I'm a fan of interior decor books and magazines in general and the photography that goes along with it, and the images in this book are second to none. So after some digging to quell my curiosity, (more Home Heist photos are on the HGTV Canada website) I discovered that all of the photos, though uncredited in the book, are by one of my favorite Canadian interiors photographers ever, Brandon Barre. I've got a couple other books he's shot and they're visual knockouts as well. Colin and Justin's spectacular designs and Brandon Barre photography in one book though, makes for THE penultimate book on interior decor in my opinion.

Hello Colin & Justin

Might be a difficult and odd question, but my sister Kim-Marie is fascinated by Colin & Justin's show. So much so, she won't even answer her phone during their timeframe.

She also is passionate about the welfare of animals and though she couldn't make it I went to the "Toronto Wildlife Centre" charity ball on November 13, 2008.

Imagine my surprise when I saw Colin & Justin’s Home Heist Style Guide on the silent auction table! I bid higher then the value as I knew this was the perfect gift for my sister, not only due to the cause, but more so the book being at the ball! However, I was a bit disappointed it was not signed :{  Is it at all possible (yea right, I know their time is crazy and in demand) for them to sign it for Kim? could we arrange something? Obviously her best of the best would be meeting them, but I'll settle for anyway to have the book signed? Given it is a Holiday gift, maybe this is possible? She lives in North York, I live in Markham and also work at Centenary hospital, so any place I am will to come to you guys if they are around????

Please let me know? Very, very least do they have pictures they sign? And of course, her place could use their touch, so if that is up for possibility, let me know.

I know it is a lot to ask, but Kim and I are the only family we have and she doesn't get excited about too many things.

PS - if this is the wrong way to request, please let me know how I should go about it? Anywhere from a signature to them visiting her home to help make it wonderful! Another thoughts? If the cost isn't too much, could I buy her "a day with them" on set? Just trying to think of anything possible. Thanks
