An All New Season of Sarah’s House

Following first season’s riveting transformation of a downtown Toronto, century-old home, nerves-of-steel designer Sarah Richardson and her trusty sidekick Tommy step outside of their element for season two: Sarah’s House heads to the suburbs!

Kicking off a 13-episode run is the search for an unassuming, cookie-cutter suburban back-split, which Sarah and Tommy will endeavour to transform into something extraordinary, room by room.

The first episode promises nothing short of amusing drama for the rest of the season, as Sarah proves it can actually be hard to find the perfect cookie-cutter suburban back-split, in a sea of cookie-cutter suburban back-split.

Tune in on Tuesday, Sept. 30th, 2008 at 9pm ET/PT for the world broadcast premiere of season two of Sarah's House.

I really liked the first season of Sarahs House and I am looking forward to seeing the next season. I waould really like to know if Sarah sold the first house she did and what she got for it?

Can't wait to watch this season! I love seeing her design transformations.

Sarah can transform the ugliest room into the most elegant setting. She has this magic touch and unique taste that are her trademark. I wish she could visit my house and perform some of that magic!

September 23, 2008 3:19 PM

In response to Ronhorner, she did sell the first house (and all the beautiful furniture in it).

September 23, 2008 3:42 PM

I went to the Interior Design Show a few months back and she did sell the house.

(Furnishings sold separately!)

I so enjoyed the first season and loved every room.  This show is so inspirational and I do wish I could have Sarah do my home room by room!

Oh Sarah as a Libra woman you have the most exquisite and refined taste, combined with a very creative unique imagination.  Cheers !!!

Finally I can watch tv again - Not an avid tv watcher but I was addicted to Sarah's house and look forward to Season 2. I also wish I could have Sarah's magic and taste on Shelley's house- maybe one day!!

Enjoy the show everyone.

I envy you in Canada...I have yet to see the first season Sarah's House because HGTV USA has yet to show it. We actually just received the 1st season of Design Inc. I just hope and pray HGTV USA picks up the 2nd season of Design Inc. I truly love watching Sarah and her team breath life into every room they touch.   Enjoy watching Sarah's House 2nd season.

September 23, 2008 11:59 PM

hey Fannie Hooks, you can see all the season of Design Inc, and Sarah's House 1rst season on line!!!!!

September 24, 2008 7:38 AM

Well, I wish I knew the search was on for a suburban cookie cutter back split. We are in Willowdale in a classic early 50's backsplit, with original kitchen and bathrooms (one pink/blue, one green/black, one yellow). But big, bright and beautiful (will be), with lots of 'esoteric' but uncoordinated stuff. I'll have to watch the 'recruitment' section more closely!

I LOVE Sarah soooo much! someone please tell me how to convince my boyfirnd and friends that she's the BEST designer to EVER come on TV.. Her style & personailty admirable. I'm really excited about her new show and happy that I'll finally have a ahow to look forad to every week...and yea... when are the new design inc. episodes coming on?????

September 25, 2008 3:16 AM

shes the best

Sarah and Tommy are wonderful designers and their personalities and design ideas work beautifully to balance each other out. Sarah's House and Design Inc are not only the best two shows on HGTV in my opinion, they are also my favourite on TV. Sarah's taste is impeccable, unique and refreshing. I can't wait to see the new season and I really hope they bring more Design Inc. too!  I think there should be more emphasis on interior decorating shows in HGTV since that's what people change more often and do by themselves more often. Keep up the good work!

I've been a fan of Sarah since Room Service! Looking forward to watching the new episodes of Sarah's House.

September 29, 2008 4:03 PM

Love Sarah!  Her designs are timeless and classic. Am I correct in hearing that she had another girl???????

September 29, 2008 6:41 PM

Could you please tell me where Sarah purchased the master bedroom closet doors -- episode #1 -- and hardware?

I believe it was Home Depot, but I can find them there -- do you have a model number -- particularily for the wooden doors.

Thank you,

Beverley

Does anyone know if you can buy the seasons of Design Inc, or Sarah's house? Would love to watch them all in order. Nothing like a little inspiration to take me away from the pile of laundry for a while!!

September 30, 2008 3:14 PM

Hey Jenny, You can watch both Design Inc. and season one of Sarah's House in HGTV.ca's video section: hgtv.ca/video. Just click on the "Full Episodes" tab.

September 30, 2008 3:48 PM

I've followed Sarah for the last 7 years on HGTV beginning with "Room Service".  Her style and career has come a long way and has been an inspiration to my own budding professional career in interior decorating. I am so very excited for tonight's premiere of "Sarah's House" season 2!!  I also hear that "Sarah's Cottage" is coming soon too (looks like there are no more new episodes of Design Inc. and it will be missed). Best wishes Sarah!

September 30, 2008 4:06 PM

Sarah definitely has the 'magic touch' and I'll arm-wrestle  anyone who says different....smiles.  As a Senior Citizen and the owner of a split-level with sixteen spaces I wish to upgrade for a fresh new look; I shall be taking plenty of notes.   Wishing Sarah and Tommy success in their endeavour!

Sincerely,

I have also loved to watch Sarah Richardson grow as a designer from her early days.  I wish she would visit us on the prairies to share some of her terrfic ideas.  Can't hardly wait for the new season of Sarah's House and Design Inc.

September 30, 2008 8:44 PM

I have followed Sarah since the days of Savoir Fare, I think that is how you spell it ..that has been off air for a while which was one of my favorites as well.  All her programs I have watched and kept track of I try not to miss any, she is such a fantastic person in all she does, she even doesn't try to cover up any trips or falls she makes a joke out of it ...which I think is great ....no snobs here ..keep up the great work Sarah and we can't forget Tommy ..you two are the greatest....

September 30, 2008 10:46 PM

Love her! Shes like... my fave Canadian ever lol. Ive watched her since room service and... would pay almost anything to have her do my house. lol yey for season 2 of Sarah's house. Ive never missed an episode of Design inc or Sarah's House. :D

October 1, 2008 9:55 AM

Does anyone know the neighborhood where Sarah's House 2 is actually located?

October 1, 2008 11:45 AM

Besides Buy Me and Design Inc., this is adds to a trio of fantastic viewing :)

Love watching the banter with Tommy and Sarah... they are a great couple and work so well together.  Its fun and very engaging to watch!

October 2, 2008 1:58 AM

Can we find out where Sarah buys her furnishings etc.

October 16, 2008 11:15 AM

Much prefer Design Inc. also find that Tommy (my favorite) has become a yes man while Sarah's ego has grown so that every idea is hers.  Just the promo for the show says it all......she snaps her fingers and he appears then disappears.

October 22, 2008 8:11 PM

Sarah, love your style! I like this show because you put some money to the work. It's much more beneficial to us viewers when we can get an idea of the costs and how you go about selecting things based on budget. Useless shows are when we are left wondering did that reno cost them 15K or 75K. They just tickle the eyes but are not beneficial. I wonder what the client paid in total and if I redid my room like that how much would it cost me?

Also what is terrrific is when I can go on HGTV.ca and look up that room and the color paint chosen, the source guide etc... If I love how a room or area was done, I want to know how can I duplicate it or copy it and some things like furniture are finds but the basics like paint colours , fabrics etc... that should be easy to share. That's why I watch shows like this. I'm looking for a change and I don't want to go through paint changes or mistakes to get a look.

One may say, well hire her. Well if I could afford to that would be a dream, but I can't and that's why I watch these shows to get ideas to do it for myself.

Right now my home is acceptable but nothing like a real professional would finish it to be.... perhaps one day I could afford to hire her, if I win a lottery :)

Thanks!!!

Hello from New Zealand!  We are watching Sarah's House (Sea Cottage) episodes on the Living Channel at the moment and it's fantastic.  I love the way Sarah picks up the most beautiful things from yard sales (we say garage sales!) and the fabric choices you have in Canada are equisite compared to what little old New Zealand has to offer!

July 29, 2009 6:41 PM

I love watching Sarah's House and all the Cottage episodes.  I was travelling  Georgian Bay this summer and was looking everywhere for her cottage; however, no such luck.  I find her talents and those of her design team's talents inspirational.  Hopefully, when I buy my cottage I will buy a dump and revamp it to look as though Sarah Richardson had designed  it.  I love your shows and find you (Sarah) fun and you have a bubbly personality and Tommy is your best bud.  Keep up the great shows.....all the best with Alexander "Z".
