Steal vs. Splurge: Bathroom Accessories

Bathroom essentials to add style and comfort.

Soap Holders

Splurge: Tired of the soaked soap bar? Try a magnetic soap holder. A no-rust cap is pressed into any bar of soap and a concealed magnet keeps the soap in the air. The graceful Petal (above left) and Humm by Noveletti are superb. From $225 to $375.

Steal: Get the same hygienic quality with this $34.95 model available at Olivier (above right), a family operated maker of natural skin care products.

Bath Caddies

Splurge: Here is a cool solution to avoid juggling your book and wine glass in your bath. You will relax knowing that the aquala bathtub caddy by Umbra is made of bamboo. At $47.50, aquala is an affordable indulgence.

Steal: If you can let go of the fold away book support, IKEA sells the MOLDER bath organizer for $7.99.

Glass Shelves

Splurge: A free standing glass console serves many usages in a bathroom. For a craftsmanship fixture, go with the Waterworks Etoile 24” Glass Shelf – price: $460 in chrome.

Steal: The Lugarno Glass Shelf conveys an almost identical look for much less. Restoration Hardware sells the 22-inch model at $85.

Who reads in a tub?
