This is my favourite all-time Home Heist makeover! Scottish design-duo Colin and Justin took an outdated home and infused bursts of citrus orange to create this bold colour palette. The accenting white walls and accessories ground the room and showcase the custom-built pieces.
It may not suit everyone’s taste, but general design rules still apply maintaining the flow and function of the room. Here’s a quick recap of the individual rooms:
The gold backsplash that surrounds the fireplace helps frame this room’s focal point. The cushions in green, orange, gold and white add depth to overall two-toned colour palette.
The open-concept layout between the dining and living room is aided by the hardwood floors throughout.
The kitchen island is on wheels to allow for easy re-arranging for entertaining. I also like the vertical white and orange backsplash, a twist on traditional kitchen tiling that keeps with the overall design concept.
A keen eye for shopping and a little patience pays off as the team sourced the perfect retro-style dining room set to match the decor. It’s cosy enough for casual dining but fun enough for a formal sit-down, as well.
