Personally, I see top sheets as an additional and unnecessary step in the bed-making process, but to many it is a crucial measure taken to keep their beds clean and comfy.
Top sheets act as a barrier between your body and comforter, to prevent sweat and dead skin cells from transferring. Top sheet advocates all over cyberspace claim that they are an absolute must due to the fact that in comparison to the alternative of a comforter, they are easier to wash and much less costly.
But I’m not convinced—is the top sheet really doing what it is supposed to do if it’s crumpled into a ball at the foot of my bed? Many, like me, would rather wash their comforters more often than deal with having to dig that thin sheet out from the depths of their bed every morning.
What do you think? Are top sheets really needed, or are they a luxury for those that want it? Do you or don’t you think top sheets are a necessity? Let us know in the comments below!
