You hear, “Open concept.” You think, “A kitchen with a sofa and television”. But in some homes the concept of “open concept” doesn’t stop there—it extends well beyond the kitchen and living room, right into the bedroom. What might a bedroom share walls with you ask? A bathroom, that’s what.
More and more architects are knocking down the walls that would normally separate a master bedroom and bathroom, with the intention of creating a bright, airy space inspired by boutique hotels.
There are pros and cons to this new wave of anti-wall design: on the pro side, the space would feel much larger and open, and we can’t deny how fabulous it would look. On the con side of the spectrum, aren’t things that happen in the bathroom only supposed to happen in the bathroom? And what about all that moisture that would fill the entire room while showering?
So, tell us—would you want an open concept bedroom, or is this a complete deal breaker when buying a home? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
