This herb ring will add a magnificent scent to your kitchen, decor to your walls, and free up counter space once taken by store-bought bottled herbs.
Materials:
1 wire ring in desired size
15 feet of 26 gauge green wiring
Assortment of herbs - parsley, sage, thyme, oregano, basil and arugula
Raffia or other material (optional)
Tools Required:
Scissors
Directions:
1. Place the wire ring on a flat, clean surface.
2. Wash herbs thoroughly and dry as much as possible. Trim stems to one inch below shrubbery.
3. Place bunches of greenery around wire ring, alternating herbs so that most-often-used herbs are dispersed evenly around ring. Make sure long, leafy herbs like arugula hang downwards.
4. Wind gauge around wreath to secure herbs in place, weaving wire underneath some leaves.
5. Use small bunches of curly parsley to cover any visible stems. Hold wreath up to check for loose herbs, and make any fastening adjustments needed.
6. Tie raffia or other wide ribbon around top of wreath in large loop suitable for hanging. Or, make a bow and fasten to side or bottom of wreath, as desired. Hang your wreath in a cool, dry area. In a few days the herbs will be dry. Move your wreath to the kitchen and use the herbs to enhance your next recipe.
