Julia Black, Assistant Designer
Julia has always had an interest in the arts. She was a competitive ballet dancer as a child and went on to choreograph jazz and hip-hop during her university days. She studied art history and the psychology of colour for her degree from Queen's university. Her interest in design developed — doesn't hurt that her mom was a decorator — during her time at the Toronto's International Academy of Design and Technology where she graduated with a design diploma.
Julia went on to intern with well-known celebrity designer Kimberley Seldon and with Canadian decorating magazines such as Style at Home and Wish. Julia's passion is sourcing textiles and she has a keen eye for all that's new in the world of decorating and design. Working with Samantha Pynn on Pure Design is a "fantastic opportunity to work with someone whose work and style I've admired for years. It's such a privilege."
