Lunchtime Fix: 7 Blue-on-Blue Rooms Similar to Sarah's House 4 Dining Room -- You Like?

You guys are pretty discordant about the latest room from Sarah's House 4!  The dining room's Art-Nouvea-inspired palette in several shades of royal and cobalt blue has caused quite a commotion :)

But listen, whether you like it or not, we can all agree that Sarah does know what she's doing... She didn't just close her eyes and point at the colour wheel. The blue-on-blue look with warm accents has quite the pedigree in the design world, and here, I give you proof!

Do you think these rooms pull it off?

I feel like I am drowning!  Really, I love blue.  I painted my last living room dark blue.  My current dining room is blue.  But not EVERYTHING is blue!  Now that I have seen these pictures (and many others) I have decided to keep my blue to fabric and rug accents.  No more blue on the walls unless it is very light, and then maybe only for my sons' rooms.  My instant reaction from seeing these pictures was to catch my breath because I felt like I was underwater.

I find these all very unsettling. I can't imagine trying to sleep in the bedroom shown in image 3.

Because of the blue-out, I think most of these rooms are beautiful as a sort of mise-en-scène or "set". To be appreciated and viewed like a couture collection, but not necessarily lived in.

I agree with Angus.  Very theatrical, but highly impractical for day-to-day living.   On a sunny day I think these rooms would be depressing.  Just my opinion:)

I think we are so used to white or neutral rooms for such a long time now that this color scheme is unsettling to the majority  but I say ,finally there is color! Its an adjustment but wow!

Sorry...I don't think these rooms are very inviting at all.  Love blue but most of these shades are too intense to live in every day.  They don't work any more than Sarah's dining room.

Blue is indeed a great colour to decorate with- IN A BEDROOM!  I feel that a Blue Dining room that is overly saturated is just too much!  Navy is fine!  Just my humble opinion!
