November is Entertaining Boot Camp!

How to reinvent the wheel make this Holiday Season new and exciting? A question we ask ourselves at HGTV every time the season rolls around, as it does with the onset of each November, whether you succumb to it or not.



While most of us can enjoy some part of the holiday season, some people find it overwhelming and downright bothersome. It may come as a surprise, but not everyone loves the idea of cooking, cleaning, certain members of their families, and having those members ravage your lovingly appointed guest room...

This is a poorly veiled premonition of my own holiday season, for which I apologize, but what I'm getting at is that really, the best way to get through the holidays is to get into it. Give in. It's the old, if you can't beat'em join'em mentality, and by golly it works!

Though we (I) empathize with those of you who greet the first festive commercial with a mixture of joy and dread, we promise to dedicate the month of November to arming you with practical advice and entertaining know-how, to get the most out of December 2011 -- we'll whip you into shape! Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to your Entertaining Boot Camp...
