Party Idea of the Month: DIY Vintage Theme Wedding

We're back with another lovely party idea of the month from event planner Marla Brown. It's wedding month and I couldn't be more excited to share this gorgeous vintage theme wedding with you. I'm getting married in six months and have been perusing all sorts of places for inspiration -- so I'm doubly pleased to find it right here where I work.

Lace is a big trend in weddings these days and it has a romantic, old-timey feel perfect for a vintage wedding. Starting with a fresh palette of yellow and white, Marla added a beige lace tablecloth to the cake table, below. The tea-stain shade adds a timeworn touch.

Lace- and ribbon-wrapped mini votives are used as individual flower arrangments for guests to take home. A larger arrangement adds height to the table.

The mismatched scarves spread over the plain white tables were found at the dollar store -- a simple way to build up your palette without spending a lot on fabric. Lemonade served in mason jars is another colourful and theme-boosting detail. DIY table charts hang from a manzanita tree and DIY monograms add a personal touch.
