Live Blogging Event Tonight, 9pm ET: Selling New York with Michele, Samantha and Sabrina Kleier

Michele Kleier on set of Selling New York

It's time, my real-estate-obsessed friends!  Selling New York premieres tonight at 9pm ET, and we here at HGTV.ca have tacked ourselves onto the excitement by hosting a live blog with some of the agents. As per yesterday's post, the mother-and-daughters team behind Gumley Haft and Kleier will be joining us in the live chat, to max out your viewing experience (live blogging instructions below).  While you watch the episode, Michele -- mom -- Sabrina and Samantha -- daughters -- are online, just at your fingertips, to answer all your questions -- so bring your laptop!

Yesterday I posted an interview with Sabrina and Samantha and today I serve you the matriarch, Michele Kleier.  Here's what she has to say about the high-end real estate game in NYC, which we can discuss further, tonight!

Michele Kleier, President and Chairman of Gumley Haft Kleier

HGTV: How long have you been in the business?
Michele: It is hard to believe, but it has been nearly 30 years!

HGTV: Are you ‘from’ New York?
Michele: I actually grew up in Pittsburgh, PA but feel wholeheartedly "from New York."  My children are all "from New York," but have a bit of the small town sensibility from me!

HGTV: Is there a lot of competition at the top of the game?

Michele: At the top of any field there is always competition, especially in a city like New York. As Frank Sinatra says "if you can make it there, you can make it anywhere".

HGTV: What’s the most challenging thing about working with your husband and daughters?
Michele: Nothing! It's a dream come true.

HGTV: What’s your general take on the New York market these days?
Michele: It's not 2007; but it's much better than 2009.

HGTV: Is it a good time to invest in New York real estate?
Michele: A lot of that depends on whether Wall Street continues to thrive for the next several years. However, most of our clients look at real estate as more of a home, rather than an investment.

HGTV: What do you predict for the market in the near future?
Michele: I am always optimistic!

HGTV:
Having been immersed in high-end real estate in the New York City for some time now, what do you say to the infamous adage that Money is everything in New York?

Michele: I would say that anyone who says that has never met a NYC co-op board!
