Bargain Saturday: Cottage Furniture, the Wicker Edition

When I think cottage furniture, wicker is my first thought. I'm not such a fan of the full wicker living room sets with matching floral cushions, but a few wicker pieces can be a nice addition to your cottage or to your home.

I spent the last couple of hours looking for some stylish wicker bargains on Craigslist (gosh, my job is hard!), and I found some great furniture from coast-to-coast. I've lost days of my life to Craigslist; it's so easy to become obsessed with finding great furniture. Now, I'm sort of coveting that rocker pictured below! Uh oh!

Clockwise from top-left (apologies if these items are no longer for sale): rocking chair for $40 in Toronto; vintage retro chair for $45 in Montreal; glass and wicker table for $35 in Vancouver; wicker chest of drawers for $150 in Toronto

Do you have wicker incorporated into your design? Or is it relegated to the outdoors or the cottage?

Comments:

The rocker is bentwood.....circa '70's I had one, & can tell you they're not all that comfortable, as the balance is off somehow. I felt as if I were falling off the darn thing!! Hard to get out of, too, as I recall. I have a couple of stools that would match that rattan table.........haven't painted them yet, but thanks to your picture, I can see they'd look good with a spray in a cheerful color.
