Photo Gallery: Marriage Under Construction Room Transformations

Seeing as this week's epi was part one of two, I shall hold off until its conclusion to post the related behind-the-scenes video, from HGTV.ca's extensive visit with Rod and Nat.

I won't leave you hanging however, so to keep the love alive here's a photo gallery of all of Rod and Nat's room transformations, including the front- and backyard, up to this point.

I think the best thing about being on this show is that you get everything you want done in an unfathomably short amount of time. This is a HUGE house -- do you know how long all of this work would take if this lucky couple took on the project outside the realm of HGTV magic? FOREVER.  They may have even gotten divorced.

But we certainly don't wish that on anybody and besides, television isn't fun when it's slow.  Here is Rod and Nat's front yard, basement apartment, 2nd floor den, guest bathroom, master suite and library.  Be forewarned: in retrospect, it's even more enviable...

You need to upgrade your Flash Player to 9 or greater

Join us next week as we live blog the conclusion of Rod's gourmet kitchen, and make sure to stay tuned for our behind-the-scenes exclusive immediately following.

Yep, enviable to say the least. Just spectacular and the best part is that this reno is absolutely reflective of the couple. Character, charm and warmth abounds. I love it.

You could not have chosen a more pitiful couple.  Like watching pain dry.  Next time please try to get a couple who have a bit of class.

Hey Rita and Wayne,

No one is pinching your eyelids open and forcing you to watch the show.  Don't like the couple?  DON'T WATCH.  How would you feel having random people negatively comment on your personalities?

ps - Spell check or a good proofread would work wonders for you both.

OMG! HGTV WHAT ARE YOU THINKING!!!! ABOUT NORMAL PEOPLE WE CAN STOMACH!

March 16, 2010 11:13 PM

Wow, what's with all the negativity?  Sure everyone is entitled to their own opinion but writing things such as pig, disgusting,  fat,  and nasty dog.

Please keep those hurtful comments to yourself.

I'm just saying.

To Rita, Wayne and Lynn, if you don't like the show watch something else !  There are 100's of other channels you can watch.  My girlfriend and I watch the show every week and we love it !  Nat and Rod are such a cool couple and the best part is that they are a real normal couple who look like they have a great relationship !  I guess all you negative people don't know what a real relationship is !!  Nat and Rod are much better than last seasons "Barbie and Ken" couple !

I agree with the last comment.

What is it worth to spend your time negatively lashing out at who they are?

If someone on a show really gets under my skin, I don't spend my time complaining about them, I just don't watch it... as I'm sure this is the way for most people with respect.

"Like watching paint dry"...

So incredibly rude of those of you saying nasty things.

This show is so great. The house is "amahzing."  The idea of an open bedroom / ensuite bath really appeals to me, and I am soo envious of the great private roof top deck!!! There IS good personality on this show, and I think Rod is very funny. I would love to check out one of his restaurants next time I'm in Toronto!

I love this couple and I love the house they've created.  It's warm and inviting, not pretentious.  I think that considering entertaining and comfort as a key elements of design are very indicative of who they are; a warm, inviting couple.

Lynn, Wayne and Rita, there's a simple solution to your problems.  Change the channel. And Lynn - you should think about what you're saying before you speak.  I believe your comments could be miscontrued as truly horrible and prejudiced.

it would be great to know how much the renos cost including all the furnishings. or are they staged rooms for the show?

March 17, 2010 8:49 PM

I think the show is great  and so are Rod & Nat

March 18, 2010 2:58 PM

I have to agree that the show is amazing and I love Rod and Nat's personalities.  They are real and down to earth.  It is refreshing to watch a design show that also makes you laugh because Rod and Nat crack me up!  Please redesign a restaurant or cottage after this show.  I can't get enough.

Great Show!! Rod and Nat are fantastic. I certainly appreciate their sense of humor and their sense of style. Wow get me this designer's phone number, she would give Design Inc and run for their money, (you are still the best Sarah).  I cannot wait to see the episodes both on TV and online.  Elena, you are doing a great job keeping us updated.

And for the folks with the negative comments, those comments are a reflection of who you are... and that is not pretty.

Thank you.

Where are we living a former Soviet Block?  Freedom of Expression people. You put yourself out for public consumption be prepared for some harsh commentary. The designer for this project is decidedly amateur and is not meant for tv. Despite what her mother writes on all of the online sites she goes on. Rod's antics on this show were immature and par for the course on what is now another terrible season of this show. However, the responsibility rests solely on the morons at HGTV who let this crap make it in the front door and then broadcasted it. Who is responsible for programming there these days?

Hgtv it's time for an overhaul with your executive branch. Reshuffle your cabinet so to speak. You are a broken network that is floundering. No more Sarah - enough already. Are Bryan and Mike really the best you can come up with? Neanderthal much? Sam is cute but she should stick to magazines. It seems that the best shows you've got are purchased from other countries. Kirsty and Phil Spencer are your salvation!!!

Sherry ,you sure  seem to watch alot of HGTV, and to think you hate all of them, thats amazing. There are other shows like 19kids and counting.

I love watching HGTV, and I hope it stays on the air for a very long time.

Love the HGTV show line-ups and I think the network is doing an amazing job!  Keep up the great Canadian produced content!
