Bargain Saturday: Industrial Stencils Make a Strong Statement

The stencil selection at your local craft or paint store can be painfully "country." There are lots of scroll-y, floral, precious stencils out there, but I'm just not all that into them. I'm not saying I don't like floral patterns (I've got my share of it at home), I just want something different.

There are a lot of other options out there, like, industrial stencils. What I like about them is they're instantly recognizable, fun, and graphic. I love the fork and knife for the kitchen.

Stencils available in 6-22", from $6-28 at stencilease.com.

What do you think?

Im not really into stencils but I love icons and bold shapes. These would be a maybe. I wouldn't mind using them to stencil onto something and then frame it.. I can see that making a statement. Good find.

Good tip on framing them, Jen! I like that idea.

I think that the industrial stencils are fun and playful. However, my husband tends to be rather "traditional or old-fashioned" in his style taste, so keep the peace, I had best not try these in our house. In my next life...maybe.

I like the idea however, where would one use them? I am having troubles wrapping my mind around it. Guess I have to see, these stencils in use.

Love the horse and rider! Would be adorable in a kid's room. I'd use these for sure, but agree with Jen, maybe framed rather than painted onto the walls.
