Photo Gallery: Share Your Holiday Spirit

The dinner is done, the gifts have been opened...it's time to veg out with some eye candy. Last year's Deck the Halls photo challenge resulted in a lot of reader photos showcasing decor ideas from across the country. This year, the pickings were a little slimmer (I blame the holiday brouhaha -- time speeds up and next thing you know, it's all over and you forgot to send HGTV.ca your photos!), but we still got a few submissions from our Flickr group, Facebook fan page and our very own colleagues -- gallery below.  When you're done that however, do scroll down for a different gallery, one dedicated to the ULTIMATE in holiday show-offery (I mean that in the best way), and what's better; it's from the desert!

This here comes courtesy of Michael and Krista V. from Las Vegas (where else?). She sent in a whopping 62 photos of their home decked out for the holidays and it has to be seen to be believed. Says Mike: "We entered into our local ABC news affiliate here in Las Vegas and both our house and my wife’s parents house were featured on our evening news casts." Well, take a stroll through the photos below and you'll see why, it's amazing! And well-deserving of a gallery all its own.

Red and Green during the holidays makes me really happy to see the different styles on these trees. That tree skirt is so simple but really chic lookin'. I myself am a mantle dresser, that one was nice too. Yeah..to condos that decorate outside ! Vegas Christmas next year for sure.

I absolutely love decorating the home for Christmas.

There are two homes on Hwy 88 north of Toronto between 27 and the 400 with an outdoor light shows that top the Vegas one above.  The one home even does the backyard.  Even the basketball net is all lit up.  Real traffic stoppers!  (I'd love to see how fast the electrical meters turn!)
