This is something I'd put in the parents/kids-living-outside-of-the-home category of gift giving. It may be a bit odd to gift anything to do with the intimate world of sleep or the bedroom, to a coworker or an acquaintance. Not to mention a bit rich. Linens however, are often overlooked in lieu of more flashy choices when we're stressing out over what to get family. But I'll tell you; one time when I found myself in the bottomless vortex of what the HE*L to get my in-laws, I came upon a sale bin of discontinued linen sets at The Bay. From there my day got a heck of a lot better. When I presented the gift on behalf of my husband and I at the holiday gathering, it was a MAJOR hit. And they use it! I've seen it. What's more, they treat it as finery (apparently they were in dire need of replacing their poly-Floridian-esque flammables they called sheets).
