Jacques and Nadine's living/dining room before...
I don't know about you guys, but I'm loving this season of Pure Design! The makeovers are fresh and bright without being too "TV" -- AKA too impossibly beautiful to imagine actually living in. This week, Samantha and her team tackled an 1886 row house belonging to organic shirt designers Jacques and Nadine. You would think fashion designers wouldn't need help with their home, but this stylish couple were at a loss when it came to incorporating their flat screen TV (and all the accompanying wires, see above right), an entertaining space and a work space. He likes more of a European aesthetic; she leans more towards the modern.
...and after the Samantha Pynn treatment.
The result is a calm, elegant, Euro-modern space with ample seating, a neutral, tactile palette and a place for that pesky TV. I love the two damask-y cube stools and the new darker floors. Handyman Christian also recreated the original 1886 baseboards -- learn how he did it -- and get Samantha's drapery styling tips, too.
