Hotel Room Tour: A Reeeeealy Nice Hotel Bathroom – Do You Agree?

I did a little travelling recently, to New York City, and had the pleasure of staying in a nice New York Hotel. I think this is blog worthy because most people I know don’t exactly have the means to stay in a nice hotel in New York City. And by nice I mean a place you don’t have to look at, shrug, and tell yourself that you’ll only be sleeping here.

Nice, to me, is 60 Thompson Hotel. It’s in SoHo, has a very nice lobby, restaurant and roof bar, and the room was a reasonable $225.00 USD. I guess things aren’t as expensive as they used to be down yonder, what with the recession and all.

But what really got me is the bathroom. It’s not the nicest bathroom I’ve ever seen (though it certainly beats my beauty), but for a relatively affordable hotel room, I felt this went above and beyond – watch my little video and tell me if you agree (p.s. do you like my shiny forehead?)

I’ve decided that every time I stay in a note worthy hotel I’ll report my thoughts along with some insider images, and would love it if you did the same.  Because I had a trusty Flip camera with me, I made a video, but you’re welcome to send me some photos along with your thoughts if you come across anything noteworthy, to stylesheet(@)hgtv(.)ca (please remember to take the brackets out when typing in our email address.)

Agree, that is a gorgeous bathroom.

I traveled through Asia for four and a half months in 2008. I did a video walkabout of every single hotel/hostel/guesthouse/apartment I stayed in, including the bathrooms. My favorite was after a few days using those closet-like-nooks  that serve as toilet/shower in Hong Kong I checked into the executive suite at the Hotel Sintra in Macau China. The washroom was HUGE and all marble. I almost cried.

Elena, you make me laugh. Loved the vid.

Love the video.......bathroom very nice but too dark for my taste. I am still in love with a hotel bath in Mazatlan that was done completely in small tiles of vari-color pale blue/green volcanic (?) glass. It was deliciously underwater-like & fresh.

I've used this same blue/green as accent in my white bath.

Oooooo that sounds nice Anne.  All I've ever wanted is a renovated bathroom....
