Bargain Saturday: Paint that's Easy on the Wallet and Environment

Above: Boomerang Paint Colours River, Honey and Moss

If you've read anything about decor, you'll know that every expert out there upholds that the cheapest and easiest way to change the look of a room is with a can of paint. So experts and amateurs alike should be thrilled that not only is there an even cheaper paint option but it's earth-friendly as well. Boomerang recycled paints go for about $15 for a 3.78 litre can — about half the price of normal paints and there are 16 colours of latex, four alkyds (oil-based paints) and six stains.

Environmentally, Boomerang paints are made up of reclaimed domestic paints collected at hardware stores like Rona and other locations. Seventeen of the company's water-based products have been certified by EcoLogo, one of North America's most respected environmental standard and certification mark and the paint comes in new recycled and recyclable plastic cans that require less energy to produce than traditional metal cans.

Fantastic paint.  I always get compliments on the honey and the sand colours used.  And you are being a good citizen of the earth.  Love the fact that this is a Canadian product.

I just painted my kitchen dining area using "Cloud" and I'm very pleased with the results. I'm looking for a Scandinavian style colour palette and this shade fits beautifully. It's not a shiny finish but I like a more matte appearance. I plan to use more of their paint. As J.Lam said, it's Canadian and earth-friendly and it's also very kind to the wallet!
