Every now and then, I stumble upon a makeover that I covet for purely selfish reasons, and this is one of them. Does anyone need a rooftop outdoor bedroom, complete with hot tub and city views? No. But everyone can imagine how romantic it might be to spend the night under the stars on a sultry summer night after a dip in the tub with a glass of wine...you get the idea.
On last week's episode of Take It Outside, designer Kelly Deck took a mismatched, under-furnished patio with little privacy from neighbours' eyes...
...and turned it into a spa-inspired oasis for homeowners Rick and Nadine.
The bed is made from outdoor foam and fabric to withstand weather and the unique headboard came from the end grain of a cedar log. Painting the floors grey and cladding the hot tub in wood the same colour allows the bulky tub to blend in with the environment. Sigh. Am envious.
