I'm a huge fan of designer, potter and Top Design judge Jonathan Adler's work. In fact, I'm still saving for that bird bowl I blogged about before. His ceramic, animal-themed lamps have more than a whiff of whimsy and humour (if you watched Top Design season 1 on HGTV, you'll know that he's pretty hilarious) -- without losing any style pedigree.
They also have a hefty price tag.
So I was pleased to find this cute Urban Outfitters Snail Lamp (below, right) for only $42 (USD). I've seen it in stores in Canada (they don't ship here), but I might keep my eye out the next time I'm state-side all the same.
Compared to Jonathan Adler's Fish Lamp, which rings in at $350 (USD), mollusks beat out tetraodontidae hands down. Of course, snails and fish are very different creature-wise, but design-wise, the shapes and sizes of these two compare rather well, don't you think?
