Edmonton's Candy Cane Lane

For three weeks each year in the Crestwood Community of Edmonton, a group of residents transform their homes into impressive displays of dazzling holiday lights and elaborately decorated holiday scenes in order to celebrate the season and to spread holiday cheer. Located on 148th street from 100 avenue to 92nd avenue, Candy Cane Lane has been attracting visitors from all over the world for over 35 years. The Christmas spirit of Candy Cane Lane residents shines brightly as these residents voluntarily light up their homes in order to create a lavish winter wonderland. Visitors are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to support the local Edmonton food bank and to give back to those less fortunate at this time of the year.

Growing up in Edmonton, I remember the holiday season would not be complete without a visit to Candy Cane Lane and it was always something that my friends and family would look forward to visiting each year. While walking down Candy Cane Lane I would often feel as if I were living in a Christmas carol because every house on the street would be lit up and exuberantly decked to the nines with holiday decor and Christmas spirit always filled the air. As I no longer live in Edmonton, my sister Sandra and her friends Anita and Liberty were kind enough to provide us with a glimpse of this year’s Candy Cane Lane.

Is there an area similar to Edmonton's Candy Cane Lane where you live?

Went to Candy cane lane last year with my husband it was his first time. I use to go as a kid.  It still was just as beautiful as I remember as a kid. Glad to see it featured on HGTV.
